On May 20th, the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) announced the online consultation for the CNAS-SV02:202X Accreditation Scheme for GHG Validation and Verification Bodies. This scheme introduces specific requirements for accrediting third-party GHG validation and verification bodies.

Key points:

Institutions applying for GHG voluntary emission reduction project validation (CCER) must first obtain approval from the State Administration for Market Regulation.

Project requirements:

  • For GHG statement verification, the institution must have verified at least two organizations based on ISO14064-1.
  • For GHG reduction or removal enhancement project validation, the institution must have validated or verified at least two projects based on ISO14064-2. CCER institutions are exempt from the project quantity limitation.

Agreed-upon procedures (AUP) cannot be applied for accreditation alone but can be included with related standard verifications or for expanding the accreditation scope.

This policy marks a significant shift in the GHG detection industry. With increasing environmental concerns, this scheme ensures standardized and unified accreditation, enhancing the credibility and authority of GHG assessments. This provides more reliable technical support and data assurance for emission reduction efforts.

In line with these advancements, Ningbo HealthyPhoton Technology Co., Ltd. has introduced the new HT8600P CH4 Analyzer. This upgraded product maintains the high precision and sensitivity of the HT8600 while adding water vapor concentration measurement, providing comprehensive data support for environmental monitoring and air quality management.
