On October 23rd, the 2023 UNNC Interdisciplinary RKE Conference was successfully held, with multiple graduate students, doctoral students, and professors participating. At the conference,  A novel IoT solution for remote real-time greenhouse gas emission data acquisition and analysis was shared.

Research background

In the context of the "carbon neutrality" era, measuring greenhouse gas emissions is crucial for addressing climate change. At present, the large-scale detection of the three main greenhouse gases CO2, CH4, and N2O is challenging, such as gas molecules being easily affected by wind direction.

Currently, most commonly used greenhouse gas emissions measurements are based on eddy covariance (EC) technology, but this technology has certain limitations, such as the need for offline data processing and limited data access frequency.

Solution

To address such issues, the report proposed the concept of "cloud" and conducted on-site experiments using the HT1800 open-path Hygrometer of HealthyPhoton Technology Co., Ltd.

IMPLEMENTATION

Conclusion

The use of GHG detection technology on A smart IoT platform can effectively achieve:

1. Real-time processed flux data to reflect site status

2. Real-time raw data download

In the future, the gas detection technology based on the intelligent Internet of Things platform will address and solve issues such as Including model corrections for EC flux calculations and real-time measurement of CH4 and N2O fluxes.
