Project Background

As a major agricultural province in China, Shandong is a significant production base for agricultural products in the country. The province's cultivated land accounts for 6.17% of the national total, ranking third nationwide. Agricultural added value and total import and export value of agricultural products have long been the highest in the country. With the rapid development and modernization of agriculture, the input of materials such as fertilizers and pesticides has continuously increased, leading to serious agricultural environmental pollution and significant greenhouse gas emissions. Accurately estimating the agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in Shandong is crucial for formulating effective agricultural emission reduction measures, evaluating their effectiveness, and achieving carbon peak targets.

 


Installation Site

To address agricultural environmental pollution and provide a scientific basis for achieving carbon peak targets, the Jinan Ecological Environment Monitoring Center Experiment Station launched the farmland gas emission monitoring project. The project is conducted in a farmland in Jinan, utilizing the open-path EC NH3-N2O flux simultaneous observation system for long-term monitoring of farmland gas emissions. Monitoring data includes real-time concentration changes of ammonia and nitrous oxide, combined with meteorological conditions and agricultural operation data to comprehensively analyze farmland greenhouse gas emissions.
