Focusing on the Nitrogen Cycle: HealthyPhoton's High-Precision Monitoring Solutions Shine at the Nitrogen Conference

Author:admin

From August 17 to 18, 2024,  HealthyPhoton participated in the 5th Academic Forum on the Biogeochemical Cycle of Nitrogen held in Wuhan, Hubei. With the theme of "Ecosystem Nitrogen Cycle under the Background of Global Change," the forum gathered numerous experts and scholars from home and abroad, focusing on cutting-edge research and practice in global nitrogen cycles.

At 8:25 a.m. on August 17, the opening ceremony of the forum officially commenced at the Crowne Plaza Wuhan Optics Valley Hotel. Huang Wei, Deputy Director of the Wuhan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Yan Xiaoyuan, Executive Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Soil Science, delivered speeches to inaugurate this high-level academic event. Both leaders emphasized the importance of nitrogen cycle research in the context of global climate change and called for strengthened cooperation to jointly promote research progress in this field.

Focusing on the Nitrogen Cycle under Global Change

Against the backdrop of global climate change and ecological environmental protection, the nitrogen cycle, as a key biogeochemical process, has a profound impact on the sustainable development of ecosystems and human society. The topics of this forum covered hot areas such as farmland nitrogen cycle and non-point source pollution control, wetland nitrogen cycle and water environmental protection, forest and grassland nitrogen cycle and their ecological effects, atmospheric nitrogen cycle and greenhouse gas emission reduction, nitrogen cycle microorganisms and their mechanisms of action, nitrogen management and sustainable development.

The complexity and diversity of the nitrogen cycle pose great challenges to its research and monitoring. How to effectively manage nitrogen, reduce environmental pollution, and enhance the stability of ecosystems under the background of global change has become a focus of scientists and environmental practitioners around the world.

Special Report:

High-Precision Ammonia and Nitrous Oxide Laser Observation Technology

On the afternoon of August 17, a senior engineer from  HealthyPhoton delivered a keynote report at the forum titled "Domestic and International Application Cases of High-Precision Ammonia and Nitrous Oxide Laser Observation Technology." The engineer deeply analyzed the pain points and difficulties in accurately measuring agricultural active nitrogen emissions, and pointed out that the open-path instrument for measuring NH3/N2O fluxes by the eddy covariance (EC) method is only HT8700/T8500.

The report pointed out that ammonia and nitrous oxide are key gases in the nitrogen cycle, and their emissions and migration have a significant impact on the atmospheric environment and climate change. The engineer introduced in detail the application of the HT8700 open-path NH3 analyzer in different ecosystems, especially its outstanding performance in nitrogen cycle monitoring, through specific cases.

HealthyPhoton's Innovative Equipment

At this academic forum, HealthyPhoton showcased the HT8800 Series All-in-one GHG Analyzers and the HT8700 Open-path NH3 Analyzer. The debut of these two pieces of equipment attracted the attention of many participants.

The high-precision, low-power gas analyzer has laid the technical foundation for the networking observation of active nitrogen gas fluxes; combined with flux tower measurements and mobile measurements, it can quantify the emission, transmission, and deposition processes of active nitrogen gases in all directions. Observation is the foundation of science. It is hoped that the breakthroughs of HealthyPhoton in active nitrogen observation technology can provide more reliable data for scientists and move further towards the goal of a zero-carbon Earth.
